The InterCity Long Form Improv Jam is the flagship main-stage jam of InterCity Improv. At the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, most opportunities for improvisers to play were either in the form of paying for a workshop or performing in a house team in a theater, both over web conferencing platforms. Taking traditions and formats from the Pittsburgh and Las Vegas improv communities, the jam celebrates the love of long-form improv by providing participants opportunities to perform in either a 15-minute musical or non-musical long form improv set, concluding in a line game in which all participants can play.

We started inviting headliners from the cities represented in the community to showcase some of the best improv that city has to offer, which in turn provides exposure to the headliners themselves to a broader audience outside their norm, and provides the participants a new perspective on how improv is treated in other parts of the world. Since its conception, teams have formed online from the diverse international improv population, so the jam has also grown to give such teams an opportunity to celebrate their diversity as well.

Later on, due to the growing popularity we also started featuring video sketches of up and coming sketch writer and performers to further promote their work to a wider audience.

We strive to provide a safe and fun environment for all improvisers to participate in our jam. We want to offer a quality experience without a paywall or exclusive membership to a specific theater. We are a community that believed in improv is for everyone, and we continue to work to this day to maintain that vision for the sake of international and interpersonal improv.
